A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query under its own systems and returns the result. We do not retain those search terms on our servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a personal criminal-record database. The published material identifies official Jackson County and North Carolina routes, including the Sheriff, Clerk, SBI CIIS, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not used to create consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention choices, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the provider’s policy before sending a query because this policy does not control its systems.

Links may lead to the Jackson County Sheriff, North Carolina courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy controls the visit. Read those terms before providing personal details.

North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, governs records held by public agencies and does not make this private site a county records custodian. - Ask for deletion where the governing law permits it
